S2 Choral Speaking Competition –3rd place

How do you get lobsters, turtles and a seasnail to do the classical Quadrille dance together? Our 2A class will tell you that you practise for hours and hours, and then you practise some more.

Class 2A competed in the 70th Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival on December 6. They performed the poem 'The Lobster-Quadrille' by Lewis Carol. The adjudicator, Miss Hilary Clulow was very impressed with their performance, which earned them third place out of 19 strong competitors.

She noted that the "unison speaking was of a high standard and solo lines were effective... the team was well disciplined and maintained concentration throughout." This discipline, combined with their creative and fun costumes that played along with the poem's sea-life theme made for "an enjoyable performance." The competition was tough this year but, through the dedication of class 2A over the last several weeks in preparation for this event, they were able to garner recognition for CPC as being one of the top choral performing schools. Preparing for the competition was rough seas at times, but 2A was able to get the lobsters and the seasnail dancing through their excellent delivery.

Congratulations to class 2A, we are very proud of your outstanding work!返回
