2016 “Fresh Water” Musical Drama
2016 “Fresh Water” Musical Drama
Congratulations to our CPC Drama Team members who performed a fantastic
musical entitled Fresh Water in the 2015-2016 Science
and Arts Carnival on April 10th in the lecture room. While showcasing students’ confidence in singing,
dancing and stage performance, the drama educates the community about fresh water shortage, the history of reservoirs in Hong Kong and
the new desalination technologies being developed in Tseung Kwan O.
The 25-minute Fresh Water drama tells the story of a family living and
learning over a 24-hour day. The family
members sing together in the morning preparing for the day. Students and workers learn about the
water-cycle and climate change, instilling a sense of socio-environmental
responsibility at both school and the workplace. The family members hike to see the monkeys
who live in the mountain reservoirs, celebrating the 2016 Year of the Monkey. They learn about desalination technologies and how it transforms ocean water into
fresh drinking water. Finally, the
family comes together to dream and sing about a bright future.
We are proud of our Secondary 2, 3,4 and 5 students who persevered
as a team, collaborating to share a warm and upbeat vision with a delighted
local audience. We are looking forward to performing another show in our newly renovated
School Hall again!
