S.1 Healthy Cooking Competition 1819
Date:5th May,2019
Time:3:30-5:30 p.m
Venue:Home Economics Room
On 6th May, six groups of Form 1 students gathered in the Home
Economics Room for a friendly cooking competition! Each group of aspiring young
chefs had the chance to invent some special dishes by using a variety of
healthy ingredients. Students were asked to wash, cut, slice, chop, peel,
dice, cook, and garnish, before describing their dishes to their fellow
students and a panel of judges.
Our student audience was offered a taste of their classmates’ inventive dishes, as well as vote for their favourite group based on the taste and the appearance.
It would be an understatement to say that this competition was a rousing success thanks to our panel of judges, teachers, and student helpers! As a result of this event, students have gained valuable life skills by cooperation as a team to design and prepare delicious dishes for others to taste. Furthermore, they grew in confidence by describing their recipes and cooking process to the audience.
Once the competition had concluded, our Principal Mr Ho offered his constructive feedback while challenging us all to be more mindful of what we put into our bodies every day, because our health is the recipe for a successful life!
